Learn Midjourney
The most-used image model for editorial, product and concept work. Prompts, parameters, style references and workflow, explained plainly.
What Midjourney is good at
- Editorial and fashion stills with a strong point of view
- Style references (--sref) that keep a series consistent
- Fast exploration: four images per prompt, variations and upscales
- Product and architecture visualisation with controlled lighting
Quickstart
- Write the subject firstSubject, then composition, then style and lighting. Parameters go last, each starting with two dashes.
- Pick a ratioAdd --ar 4:5 for portraits and social, --ar 16:9 for cinematic frames, --ar 1:1 for product tiles.
- Tune the look--stylize controls how much of Midjourney's own aesthetic is applied; --style raw keeps it literal; --sref copies a look from an image or code.
- Keep what worksNote the full prompt, the parameters and the model version next to each image you approve. Style codes render differently across versions.
